Founded in 2005, Gâtinais Biogaz was one of the first projects led by an agricultural collective. Fully operational from 2012, this project enables businesses to diversify their income streams and to recycle more livestock waste into organic fertiliser that is more easily absorbed by plants and is less odorous. The biogas was originally converted into electricity and heat (600 kW cogeneration) but has been purified into biomethane since 2016. The plant injects 160 Nm³ CH₄/h.
